Love it or hate it: Social Media is an inevitable part of every business.

The better you are at using Social Media, the more successful you'll be, so here are 10 tips to get you headed in the right direction:

1. What’s your social media goal?  If you don’t know what your goal is, it’s pretty hard to reach it.
2. Promote your most popular posts – and that goes for blog posts as well as social media posts!
3. If you hate tracking, at least track with Facebook Insights.  It’ll show you a lot about your Page progress.
4. How do you get the conversation going on social media?  Try humor and controversy.  They’re very powerful.
5. Social media is a powerful thing, but never mistake just being online with being productive.  Stay focused by setting a goal for your day's social media activities.
6. Click FB Insights’ “Posts>When Your Fans are Online” to see your audience’s peak posting times.  (Post during these times!)
7. Look for repeated questions on your chosen social networks, and provide answers.  This will grow your credibility!
8. Analyze your own tweets.  Which types got most retweeting?  The most Interaction?  Were questions more popular than graphics?

One of the freedoms of working in Internet Marketing is the variety of choices you get to make, and your first choice is choosing a business model that appeals to you.

It's important you make this choice carefully, or you'll find yourself hopping from business model to business model, spending money on programs and “secrets,” and not making any profits whatsoever.

That's the reason finding a business model that appeals to you and focusing on that model will go a long way toward helping you succeed online.  And succeeding quickly.

When it comes to Internet Marketing, there are 3 basic business models from which to choose.  Not surprisingly, each has advantages and disadvantages, so by looking over this list and considering your strengths and weaknesses, you should get a good idea about just where you want to focus.

Option #1: Creating Your Own Information Products
When you create your own product, you're in complete control of your income stream.  You create it, set up a sales page for it, and sell it over and over again.  You can also set up an affiliate program, so other people sell the product for you for a percentage of each sale.  Like I said, lots of control!

 

The only real downside is you can spend a lot of time on a product that may not perform as well as you'd expected.  But don't worry!  As a product creator, you keep creating, so one disappointment won't last long.

 

Option #2: Affiliate Marketing
Unlike being a product creator, with affiliate marketing, you don't have to spend time creating your own product.  You just need to be good at promoting products.

 

You'll earn commissions for each sale you make, and with the right promotional techniques, you can establish yourself in the niche and make affiliate commissions from several different programs at once.

 

The downside?  You're forced to rely on other people to create quality courses and products you can promote to earn your income.

 

Option #3: Membership Sites
With information products and affiliate marketing, you'll earn money from a one-time sale.  When you own a membership Site, you'll have an ongoing stream of income.

 

Creating and maintaining a membership Site is as easy as providing monthly reports on a niche topic, hosting a forum, or offer coaching for a flat fee each month.

 

You can even use an affiliate program with your membership Site, so other people will send new members your way.

The downside is you need to keep providing fresh content on a regular basis to keep your members interested.

Whichever business model you choose, success is just around the corner.  Examine your strengths, and what you want to get out of your business, and you should be able to find the right model for you.

The influencers in your niche are the ones who have big platforms – such as mailing lists, popular blogs, and big social networks – that are full of people who hang on their every word, and  who take them up on every recommendation.

I’m sure you're well aware of the influencers in your niche, but have you thought about how to ethically borrow their traffic?  That’s right, if you partner with them, you can leverage their traffic to build your own mailing lists.

Here are six ways to do it:

• Create a webinar together. You can co-create this webinar to teach a topic together, or you can even interview your partner.  The key here is that your partner helps you promote the webinar, and you build a list by having prospects register for the event by joining your list.

• Co-promote each other in your respective newsletters. You can do this once, or you can agree to insert links to each other’s lead pages for a set amount of time.

• Swap links on your confirmation pages. This is a great place to promote each other’s lead pages, since the new subscriber is in a subscribing mood.

• Create and distribute viral content together. This could be a video, report, or other piece of content. Each of you promotes the content, and each of you inserts links to your lead pages directly into the content.

• Recruit the influencer to your affiliate team. Then give that person 100% commissions on a product.  He/She gets to keep all the upfront profits, but you get the valuable list of buyers and all the backend profits.

• Guest blogging. This is pretty simple – just persuade your partner to publish your exclusive article on their blog.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to leveraging an influencer’s traffic to build your list.  All you need to do is to get creative because these strategies are often the best and quickest ways to turn warm targeted traffic into subscribers and buyers.

Try Diversifying Within Your Niche.  Once you've had success in a particular niche, you should try diversifying your business within that same niche.  Since you're familiar with the niche already, it will be very easy to use that information in new ways.  And because you've established yourself, the customers in that niche will already know, like, and trust you.

 

3. Let Go of Projects That Don't Work.  In an effort to become diverse, many inexperienced marketers hold onto unsuccessful Web Sites for way too long.  If a site isn't make money, it's best to cut it loose as quickly as possible, so you can concentrate your efforts on your more profitable Sites as well as building new ones.
